Review for K9 Kismet Dog Rescue, Long Beach, CA, USA
A good friend of mine is a big supporter of doggie rescues, and she is a big fan of K9 Kismet and has supported them for years. She sent me an alert from K9 about a wonderfully sweet pitty mix that had been surrendered by a nice family who was overwhelmed because she got pregnant and had a litter of 6 puppies. The puppies got adopted quickly, but Momma Ivy did not yet have a home. I was thinking about getting another dog (as I lost my last beloved rescue pup to cancer last year), and I couldn't resist Ivy's sweet face. However, I had just returned from a work trip and this was Labor Day weekend, and I had a busy week ahead. The K9 Kismet team took time to chat with me on Saturday for a short interview and to walk me through the foster application process and then volunteered to bring Ivy to me for a "meet-&-greet" on the Labor Day holiday. They came equipped with food, treats, toys and a bed to make the transition as easy as possible for me (if I opted to "foster" Ivy). It was really love at first sight. Ivy was as sweet as advertised, with a wonderful temperament, and the K9 team had clearly taken good care of her during her time with her puppies. They have followed up regularly to see if there is anything we need, and I am happy to say, I have officially adopted Miss Ivy, so she now has a "forever home." They also arranged with their vet to have Ivy spayed, and we will be doing that shortly. Thank you to K9 Kismet for all their selfless and wonderful work!
