In the early hours of Sunday, July 18, 2021, my wife woke me from his sleep in the wee hours of the morning when I heard her screaming from the bathroom. She had suffered a miscarriage. Our worst fears, my wife's most especially, had come true. We questioned if maybe the previous day was to blame. We were in Philadelphia. There was a heat index of about 100 degrees that day, and had had a terrible anxiety attack on the way home as we sat on the side of 95 waiting for the pouring down rain to pass. A couple of weeks after we went through most emotional day of our lives, we were surprised when we received a care package in the mail from the Adalyn Rose Foundation. Did that care package touch my heart and soul. By receiving this package, I also learned that very close friends of ours had experienced a miscarriage as well, and they were the ones who requested the care package for us. As the year went on, the Adalyn Rose Foundation showered us with various surprises throughout the year to help us remember the little life we had lost. It was bittersweet but so very heartwarming. As we shared our story over the course of the last year, we started to learn of friends who experienced miscarriages. Friends started to come to us for support when it happened to them. Immediately we knew we HAD to connect them with the Adalyn Rose Foundation. It is because of this foundation that we made it through that first year. It is because of this foundation that we knew we were not alone. We cannot thank the Adalyn Rose Foundation for being our support system for that first year. Thank you to all of you for helping us through it.
