I fell in love with the Farm Animal Refuge based in San Diego during the lockdown in 2020. They gave me a focus everyday away from the daily doom and gloom of the news. I've slowly got to know and love all the residents and the lucky humans who get to care for them. So many of their residents would have died if they hadn't been taken in and looked after by FAR. I have watched videos of little Freddie having his splints taken off for him to nap and then put on again so he can chase his friends on his little cart. They have given him and so many others the chance to a normal life and most importantly the chance to live. The world is a much better place for the amazing, dedicated and loving team including numerous volunteers who keep working so hard to give these animals a fabulous life and all the work that goes into fundraising and keeping the Patreons up to date with all the goings on on the farm. Amazing.
