I am honored to be asked to share my story from Project Hawai’i, Inc.
I was a young teen when I was part of this program. My mom was on drugs, I wasn’t in school because I had to watch my younger sister. It was normal for me, for everyone who lives homeless in this area.
Magin and Cliff came to our tent week after week, always checking on us. They brought food, meals, clothes and books.
Eventually I got my sister and me in school. My mom went to rehab and got us a place to live. I know participate in sports and win championships with my school team. My sister won an award for reading the most books all summer. This program was life changing for me and my sister. I will always love my uncle and aunty for always being there for us and never giving up.
I know my life is a wonderful because they cared to make it that way.
