I am the founder and executive director of New Neighbors Partnership, an organization that helps welcome refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Haiti, and all over the world to New York City. Partnering with Neighbor Share has been an incredible experience and they have provided outstanding support to newcomers who are fleeing violence or persecution and arrive with no community or safety net. Many folks have family or friends they can call on in times of need, but for refugees who have only recently arrived and not yet built up a network, Neighbor Share has filled a gap by providing one-time emergency support that can be life-changing in times of crisis. Neighbor Share not only facilitates dignified financial assistance but also give our new neighbors the feeling that they have a community here, in their new country.
