Review for Alliance For International Women's Rights, , WA, USA
This is one of the first programs to provide real, direct mentoring of young Afghan women and professional women based on their own stated needs -- for many, English language one-on-one tutoring to make themselves able to be understood on the international stage (and hire-able), and professional mentoring, such as in legal issues for women lawyers, judges, and politicians, for women in various professions. It has been operating for two decades without pause, and has been delivering real, tangible results to build these women's capacity. I cannot say enough good things about the work they are doing or the women themselves who are putting in incredible time and effort to make this work. Through trial and error in the early years they have figured out a system that delivers.

Just a fantastic organization of extraordinarily dedicated professionals, working against incredible odds to try and advance women's rights in Afghanistan. With the fall of the country to the Taliban their work has only increased in importance, as they continue to support young women and women professionals both in Afghanistan and those who managed to escape the Taliban take-over but found themselves trapped in intermediary countries and/or having to start their lives over from scratch.
Just an amazing organization.
