As someone who has pet Rattus rattus' and a keen interest in the intelligence of rats and their potential to help people, APOPO's aims and actions are truly inspirational.

The volunteers who train the African giant pouched rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis, as well as the rats who carry out the work, are heroes. They deserve to be recognised for their contributions to humanity.
