The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) is a well-run organization that is far more than a local animal shelter. AWLA provides educational opportunities for the community, as well as low-cost veterinary services (e.g., clinics). It serves as the home of animal control and ensures the humane treatment of local wildlife, including by pairing sick/injured animals with rehabbers. It also works with other area shelters to improve their foster programs and service to their communities. Simply exceptional.
