I play piano for SpiritCare and it is a marvelous service bringing church services to a wide variety of senior living communities. Most impactful are experiences in the memory care units, where old hymns are still remembered and sung. Also the people leading the services will engage the group asking questions that most still can answer and will have stories to share "who was your best friend in grade school?" This is an amazing way to connect, engage and affirm people largely overlooked and undervalued in our world today.

Mercy Beyond Borders does work that most other non profits wouldn't touch. The problem they are addressing is that a majority of women in South Sudan, Uganda and the other countries that they serve, are sold at a very early age into marriages for cattle, and face a future of extreme poverty, with no choice and no voice. The way out is education, which then leads to financial independence which is what Mercy Beyond Borders does and has been doing with impressive results for many years. It is transformative work: for women, for families, for communities, for countries.
