Review for Communities in Schools of Rowan County, Salisbury, NC, USA
As a volunteer with CIS in Rowan Salisbury Schools, I help seventh grade students with reading skills and class assignments to improve their academic skills and self esteem. I have helped collect school supplies and sort these for distribution to families before school begins. I see students use these in the classroom.
I see what volunteers do to help students become better students with improved grades and attendance. CIS also provides students with basic clothing, eye care, etc. CIS is very vital for student success. Increased funding for CIS can provide for students in extreme poverty.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would increase the funding to help students who come form extreme poverty households. Their needs for the basics to come to school include facilities to wash clothes as well as the clothes, shoes, transportation, etc.
