EDRC was the first organization that I reached out to when my child was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervousa. From the very moment that I spoke with her, Janice was a godsend. She offered to help in any way she could, put me in touch with other parents and recommended countless resources one of which was the free parent/caregiver support group that EDRC runs. TIme and time again I have reached out to Janice and others at EDRC and never once have they turned me away. Always willing to help, share their experience and/or lend an ear, they are dedicated and passionate about serving others and, go out of their way to help anyone and everyone (including parents/caregivers/family) affected by an eating disorder. The parent/caregiver support group that they run has been a tremendous resource connecting families with veteran parents who share their experience and advice. In addition, the support group has guest speakers who are experts in the field which helps keep families educated about the latest research and equips us with strategies to help our loved ones. While it has been devastating coping with a loved one with an eating disorder, this organization has connected me with the best of humanity. Never have I encountered so many people willing to help and support one another, give their time and share resources. Inspired by the work that they do, I am proud to now participate as a volunteer for this invaluable organization.
