Shepherd’s Centers of America (SCA) is the controlling organization for a network of approximately 55 Centers throughout the United States. These local Shepherd’s Centers provide a variety of services to the senior population in their area. The services provided the Centers vary and include such things as educational programs, transportation services, shopping services, handyman programs and several other services. SCA has provided a program that allows the Centers to network with each other to share best practices and programs that can be shared across the network. They have also assisted the Centers to develop a library of programs that can be accessed by any Center which includes a speakers Bureau that allows a Center to contact speakers from across the country. These tools are very helpful to small Centers like ours. SCA also provides assistance as we try to develop our programs and increase our influence in the community. That is particularly beneficial since we struggle with both the knowledge of how approach the task and the lack of resources to accomplish it. The Shepherd's Center of West Wichita has relied on SCA for assistance in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
