I started volunteer for Pet Project for Pets a couple of years ago because I was impressed by their mission statement of keeping pets with their people. Since then I’ve learned that Pet Project does so much more than I realized to achieve that goal. The Pet Project for Pets:

- Manages the Hidden Treasures thrift store where all products are donated, all staff are volunteers and all proceeds go towards feeding pets.
- Provides pet food and litter to a vast number of clients that are elderly, disabled or on a fixed income,
- Recommends veterinarians who give discounts to financially challenged families and, depending on the need, will assist directly with veterinary bills,
- Encourages adoption of senior dogs by providing food, supplies and vaccines for the dogs for the rest of their lives,
- Partners with qualified animal rescues to provide low-cost pet food and supplies, and
- Contributes pet food and supplies for disaster relief efforts.

I am proud to volunteer for an organization that does so much towards ensuring that pets are well cared for and I am thrilled to work with a great group of pet lovers who are dedicated to this common cause.

I believe strongly in giving back to the community, so when I retired I wanted to use some of my spare time to do just that. I contacted Pet Project because of my love of animals. Since working there I have met many other animal lovers and their pet companions and I’ve seen firsthand the unique services that Pet Project provides and how much those services mean to their clients. The Pet Project is truly one the most valued nonprofits in our community.
