As I talk with clients, I'm reminded how obscure the law can appear to those who don't work inside it. I like volunteering for Step Up to Justice because I can inject some humanity and compassion into what is often a difficult situation without good options, unfortunately. I have found the staff to be knowledgeable and responsive, and they do a great job connecting clients with volunteer attorneys.
