I had the pleasure of working as a creative writing teacher/social worker for this summer and I must say that It was an amazing experience! The Statement Arts team truly cares for these kids and go above and beyond to make this experience a memorable one. Every day I saw as the kids opened up a little more and blossomed during the final show. Statement Arts becomes their safety place, their second home. This program is a great opportunity for the kids to find their voice. I am so grateful that I was part of this program because I got to meet wonderful, talented, and hilarious kids who have the biggest hearts. Additionally, I am grateful to have worked with such an amazing team! It makes me happy to know that programs like these exist to uplift the youth.
