Able Flight has been giving people with various forms of disabilities the opportunity to earn their pilot's license for many years, and I'm proud to say I'm one of the newest (Class of 2022's last awardee). My name is Andy and I'm a C7 quadriplegic. I'm here to tell you that if I can do it, you can do it too! In Able Flight, the only one who isn't sure about that is you.

The overarching goal of Able Flight is to facilitate the opportunity to learn to fly, not give away certificates. Make no mistake, if you choose to undertake this challenge (and you should, right now) it'll be hard, frustrating, and at times you'll want to quit and go home. While most people only have to learn how to fly, we have the far greater challenge of learning how to learn how to fly. But, with great challenges come the best, most fulfilling rewards. While working through the process, you'll be in the company of fellow trainees. You'll motivate and push each other. You'll also celebrate with each other when the big day comes. The Able Flight staff could not be more supportive. The organization's director works an obscene number of hours to ensure that all the details are covered and each student has at least what they need to succeed and often far more. Further still, the instructors at Purdue are high quality CFIs who'll require much of you. They're always ready to provide instruction, guidance, or friendship.

A lot of details have to come together to make this happen and it, not surprisingly, cost a lot of money. Able Flight has an impressive number of corporate partners who give their time and/or resources to perpetuate the program and its core mantra. Indeed, some of the biggest names in aviation have signed on to make Able Flight a reality. Able Flight is a quality organization with a long track record of saying, "Yes, we can do that!"
