Review for National Interscholastic Cycling Association, Orinda, CA, USA
NICA was once the premier youth cycling organization. Now I think it's mostly a shell of itself and has lost it's way.
From some of the posts the national director has posted in regards to SOCAL leaving and threatening coaches with losing credentials and discounts it seems more intent on being vindictive.
NICA has now stood up multiple leagues in a matter of weeks in states that left NICA. The previous leagues went through a long and arduous vetting process. Is it safe to spin up a new league that fast? Can the culture be engrained that quickly or is this just money grab?
Why are all these leagues leaving in the first place? These questions and more need to be asked and answered before I give another dollar to NICA.
Which leagues have left NICA? CO, GA, AL, AZ, MN, WA, SOCAL...NC was going to and they removed the director and are paying someone in order to keep them...UT, NV next?
