San Diego Dance Theater is a wonderful modern dance company performing, training, and educating in the San Diego area. It's astonishing that SDDT has been in existence since 1972, entirely through the efforts of the director, Jean Isaacs, with lots of help from volunteers and staff. And it exists as a non-profit entity for the benefit of the community. Can you imagine Jean's vision and dedication for 39 years?

SDDT is a source of pride and joy in San Diego. It is a fountain for creative talent and performance by the company's dancers. It provides opportunity for creative motivation and expression for young people in the community. And, of course, it has provided opportunity for appreciation of dance, artistically and athletically, by audiences for 39 years.

The performing arts add immeasurable vitality and wonder to our lives. As one ad goes, "a great nation deserves great art." Encouragement and support of the performing arts is so important in these times of contentious budgets. We must be grateful to San Diego Dance Theater (and other groups) for its vision, dedication, and perseverance in the performing arts.
