I've been involved with MATHCOUNTS for almost 30 years in multiple roles in two different states. I've served as a state and chapter coordinator organizing competitions and as a school team coach preparing the mathletes for the competitions. It's been a really fun and rewarding experience working in the program from both sides. The constants I've seen are the enthusiasm and the talent of the kids participating. By adding some fun and competitiveness into the mix, MATHCOUNTS gets kids to want to come in before or after school to work on math. That's quite an accomplishment. The program's management team is very organized, supportive and capable, and the number of dedicated volunteers across the country who make it work are amazing. This is a program worth supporting!
