We have sponsored children through Unbound for over 25 years, and traveled to Guatemala twice- once to meet our sponsored child through an Unbound-organized trip. We have been so impressed by Unbound's commitment to not only feed the hungry and clothe the naked, but by their commitment to partner with sponsored children's families and communities through encouraging entrepreneurship and dignity in the process. By recognizing and honoring parents' knowledge of their own family's needs and allowing input on how best to use funds, they walk alongside a family thereby allowing much needed dignity in being part of the solution. A community of support is formed whereby sponsored families come together to network, problem-solve, and grow together. Prior to COVID19, my husband and I were proud to be ambassadors and spread the good news of their work.
