This is absolutely the worst of all the charity rating sites. I looked up a few of my favorite charities and they all had failing grades even though they are totally transparent and have stellar records. When I tried to delve further and find out why, I was told that Charity Navigator hasn’t updated their information yet. So they give failing grades that hurt charities just because they haven’t gotten around to update information? How about not rating until they can update their information? How about hiring more staff? Their “Encompass” rating system is faulty at best and must be looked at internally to correct the methods they use to rate charities. Until then, use a different site to find our about charities you are thinking of donating to. There are many reputable ones to choose from. This is not one of them.
