Review for San Diego Dance Theatre, San Diego, CA, USA
San Diego Dance Theater is San Diego's premier modern dance company with an effective educational outreach component. I first met Jean Isaacs and her company in 1992. I was a young teen living in a small town. Knowing the importance of dance as art and education, Ms. Isaacs and company members graciously drove 45 minutes on mountainous roads to my small town to teach a three week residency (tuition free to students) that culminated in a community performance starring the company and students. I attended this workshop for five years in that small town. San Diego Dance Theater has been instrumental is shaping my education and professional choices since that first meeting.

Ms. Isaacs introduced me to modern dance almost twenty years ago with her outreach program. Since then, I have graduated with a dance degree, attended a prestigious dance school in New York, earned a teaching credential and Master's od Education, and continue her legacy of dance education, serving thousands of underprivileged youth. San Diego Dance Theater has been instrumental in my development as a dancer and educator all along the way.

If I could improve this organization, I would provide it with a larger budget in order to enable the company to create more outreach opportunities and to make tours that reach beyond the borders of San Diego County.
