Founded and lead by a highly respected community leader, Gracie Cavnar, I have been aware of the impact Recipe for Success has had in our community, especially with our children, for many years. Well before food insecurity was raised to its current prominence in a national conversation, Gracie and Recipe for Success taught valuable lessons regarding the importance of learning to grow, prepare, and consume healthy foods. The non-profits evolution and growth now includes Hope Farm, an endeavor largely recognized as the most impactful and engaged community-engaged but non-profit owned and managed garden in Houston. Without Gracie's vision, Recipe for Success would not exist. Without her leadership, Recipe for Success would have not attracted the extraordinary staff, volunteers, and other leaders that ensure its success.
