I first volunteered at LCAR in November, 2021. In late December I adopted my sweet little dog Gretchen from LCAR. It is a wonderful facility that gives previously abused, neglected, and hospice dogs and horses a happy home where they are well cared for and loved by the staff and volunteers.

The volunteer work is not easy, but it is very rewarding. They also have a monthly outreach program for people with PTSD and other disabilities to come and spend time with the horses and it helps both the visitors and the horses to deal with their circumstances. I usually volunteer for 4 shifts per week there.
