When I think about the state of the American Prison System, it breaks my heart. Humans are treated worse than animals, in unsanitary and inhumane conditions. Then I think about the people who are there not because of a crime they committed, but because they did not have the legal help to prove their innocence. The American Legal System is just as scary. It is run in a way that the average person can not navigate it without years of legal experience or heaps of money to afford suitable lawyers who are experts in their fields. I donate to this charity on a regular basis through their online portal, and I also have them listed as my Amazon Smile beneficiary. They send me follow up emails, updating me about the work that has been done and the cases and people they have helped. When I think about tough and scary situations that I do not want to be in, I also wouldn't want anyone else to experience them either and that is why I donate to MLFA
