The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee has been a favorite charity of mine for over 25 years! A few years ago, I became an Eleambassador for them. That means I am training to teach all age groups about the Sanctuary, about the elephants' history and life stories, about the 3 species of elephants in the world, and about the incredible abilities of elephants (a keystone species). I also raise money for the Sanctuary and have been for years because I know where the money goes. Three years ago (before covid), I and many other Eleambassadors spent a special weekend in Hohenwald to get a first hand look at the caretakers' work, at the elephants themselves, and the education center. Several schools up here in Massachusetts have welcomed the Sanctuary's virtual classes into their own classrooms. It's truly the premier Sanctuary in the country! If I were more computer savvy, I would share photos.
