Review for Volunteers for Veterans Foundation, Fontana, CA, USA
My name is Randy N and I am a recently retired mental health professional in San Diego, CA, as well as a humble, yet proud Viet Nam era, honorably discharged United States military veteran. During the last 2 years of the covid19 pandemic, my cousin, John Goodwin, also an honorably discharged veteran, has been displaced from his home in Rancho Cucamonga and rendered to homeless status, after losing half of his family related to covid19. During this time, we have navigated thru the complex system of obtaining housing for John. We have had to interact with multiple governmental entities on local, state and federal levels. To say this process has been a challenging endeavor is a gross understatement. Yet, we kept persisting, progressively pushing onward and finally rounded third base and successfully made it to home plate! My cousin, John gained low income senior housing! There are a lot of dedicated people involved, that John and I are genuinely grateful. Among these special individuals is Betty Volk. who generously contributed to providing John with valuable household items and continues to coordinate through her various resources, to obtain furniture for my cousin too. Personally, and on behalf of my cousin, John Goodwin, I went to extend my profound and heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to those persons that provided assistance throughout this arduous process. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Randy N & John Goodwin
