Something that makes Virginia Organizing special is that it isn't a one issue organization. They focus on issues that people within each community care about. They are not just outsiders stepping in, their members are people from the communities. Who knows what a community needs more than the people themselves? I especially appreciate their focus on empowering people that are directly affected by the issues they fight for. Virginia Organizing helps me build connections with people I wouldn't have met. These connections help me know what is going on in my town and empower me to make a difference.
