I currently voluteer for Sandy Hook Promise because they work to make our schools and communities safer by offering free programs to schools as well as supporting commonsense gun laws (not taking away guns). Their "Start With Hello Program" helps students reach out to peers who may feel isolated. They also have an anonymous reporting system for students to report suspicious activities to help prevent someone causing harm to themselves or others. Students also have the opportunity to create their own student club thereby empowering students themselves to create a safer environment. SHP provides all the materials for these activities totally free to schools.
