Review for Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking, Denver, CO, USA
As a board member, I work to provide governance for the organization. Before this, I joined as a volunteer hotline advocate. Year after year, I'm reminded that the work this organization performs is crucial because the need to combat human trafficking is ever-present. By providing counsel on the state level, providing training opportunities to organization and community members alike, and providing a statewide hotline/textline, LCHT's tireless efforts are humbling, inspiring, and seeks a future where Human Trafficking is a thing of the past.

I have been a volunteer with the Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking since Spring of 2020, and became a board member last year. This organization is works diligently to provide a multifaceted approach to combating human trafficking; by conducting research, providing education to providers alongside the public, resources to the public in tandem with survivors of human trafficking, or counsel to the Governor, LCHT remains well-informed in both Labor and Sexual Human Trafficking, and seeks to share this knowledge to end human trafficking in our lifetimes.

The Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking is phenomenal in its dedication to serving the community by providing education to the public on Human Trafficking in the forms of labor and commercial sexual exploitation. Because of their dedication in their efforts, I've volunteered with this organization for a few years, and have participated in the leadership development program. In addition, I now serve on the Board of Directors because I do feel that LCHT is one of the best equipped organizations to help the public combat Human Trafficking.

I've been a Hotline /Textline Advocate over the last couple of years and completed the Leadership Development Program last summer.
The thing I like most about LCHT is its desire to challenge popular notions of what constitutes Human Trafficking. Plenty of us are more than familiar with the idea as it's been portrayed in pop culture in films like "Taken", but fewer people know the actual statistics, or that sex trafficking is only one issue of the broader subject.
As an advocate, I also fully endorse LCHT's policy of not placing blame on the survivors of HT.
