Solving the horrific problem of gum violence, especially that of assault weaponry shredding innocents in grocery stores, theaters, schools, churches, temples, and concerts is one we cannot ignore. Second and third string “solutions” can support, but not replace, the common sense need to eliminate assault weapons and strengthen gun regulations.

Muskets are not the problem today; automatic weaponry and magazines are. Kudos to the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation for honoring the children lost there with positive, effective efforts to save others today.
