My son was three years old when the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting occurred on December 14 of 2012. Reading the newspaper and contemplating what might have been was horrifying to me. I began to follow the work of the parents of the children who were killed, and remained interested in preventing gun violence in schools and across the country. When Sandy Hook Promise was formed I decided to support them financially, and I have been amazed by their determination and courage in waging a battle for sanity and truth in the debate over what constitutes responsible and sensible gun laws.
