I was a born again Christian when I was 7 years old. I was hired in 1976 with Oakland County after serving in the US Marines during the Vietnam Era. I was then released early to attend the former Detroit Bible College with the intent to renter the military as a chaplain then Oakland County hired me while in college. I retired on Thanksgiving in 2015 (with 39 years of service) after having a stroke while on duty in 2014. During my tour with. Oakland County I’ve been shot at 11 times. The youngest shooter was 10 years old. He was hold a shotgun and repeatedly pulling the trigger while aiming it at me. I served in the Sheriffs Inmate Boot Camp Program as a drill instructor for over 5 years. After my stroke I refused to give up and attended many basic and advance crisis intervention classes to help other law enforcement and other first responders. The Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers has been there for me with support and guidance while retired and my continuous services to my LE colleagues. With much prayer and devotion and the support of the FCPO I am stronger in my faith in Christ. Let’s ALL be there for our brother and sisters and keep them in our prayers and be there with support.
