My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences Inc, Doraville, GA, USA
This organization is abusive and completely lied to me and my family. I can hardly begin to describe the myriad of dishonesty but here are the highlights:
-they charged my family extra money reason given I didn't complete my homework at "feelings school." There was no homework at feelings school. The extra fees levied were a complete fabrication.
-I was kicked out for not adhering to arbitrary rules imposed like "community buddy" which would have required me to view a sporting event on a Sunday which is completely against my religion and upbringing.
-their methods were highly dishonest and abusive. I was accused of making people think I was crazy because of a very tame haircut and I came home from a day of hard work to find my room in shambles and my mattress turned upside down. They admitted the room had been searched without my knowledge or consent and searched for "contraband" although there was no reason for them to suspect that I had been up to anything untoward.
-I could go on for many more pages but suffice it to say that myself and woman I was to marry were both told that we would be dead within 6 weeks. She is now concertmaster of the State Philharmonic Orchestra and I am an underwriter with a major mortgage lender.
-MARR is not run by former addicts, but my religious kooks. Avoid this place no matter what they say or no matter how much trouble you might be in. It is clear they do not have your best interests at heart and they will let you go as soon as they see they cannot milk your family for any more money.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
having been a client and my wife having been a client and being lied to.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
First of all, they said they were accepting of all religions. Yet they did not accept me attending a Hindu temple nor attending a Unity Church. In their initial paperwork they said that you had to go to church on Sunday and that they were accepting of all faiths. Yet they were not accepting of any non-Christian faith. This was not just with me. This was with other clients who were not Christian.
