Two months ago, we adopted Luna (formerly known as Juliet) from WCLRR. It had been a number of years since our previous Yellow Lab, Leo, passed away. We had him from the time he was a puppy until he was almost 13. You never get over their passing, which is why we waited so long before we considered getting another dog. From the moment we met Luna we fell in love. She had been rescued from a breeder and her medical issues (ectopic cilia and being spayed), were taken care of by WCLRR. What I appreciated most about their adoption process was that it was clear from the start that the welfare of the dog was their greatest concern, which is the way it should be. Being vetted was not a problem for us as Jolene, along with volunteers Eric and Jill Epstein and Wendy Boice were very clear and organized about everything, which made the adoption so much easier. We are eternally grateful to them for allowing us to become Luna’s caretakers.
