I received my CVA in 2009 and have renewed twice since then. I have one more renewal before I retire from the field of volunteer engagement. I was working in this field long before I received my CVA. It had been a personal and professional goal of mine to earn my CVA. When I did, that certification represented a validation of my work, my dedication to best practice, and my place shoulder to shoulder with some amazing other CVAs. It carries with it the responsibility and honor of supporting my fellow CVAs and the Association, and encouraging those who are working toward their own CVA goals.
