I have been involved with Fun Time for over 12 years. I started out reading with 3 little boys, one-on-one on Tuesdays each week during the school year. But it wasn't just about reading, although Fun Time's mission is to prepare preschoolers from low-income working families "ready to read and ready to learn" when they start kindergarten. It was also about confidence, and a joy in learning, and love. The staff at Fun Time exhibits this daily, not just on Tuesday afternoons. Although I grew within Fun Time to become a Board Member, my greatest satisfaction was walking into a classroom and seeing an energized environment that none of these kids would have ever experienced without this amazing pre-school.
