Working as an intern with Udayan care came with new experience and exposure. I was not aware of anything related to Child care, aftercare, care leavers, the JJ act and much more related to alternate care.
My engagement with Udayan Care opened doors for me to understand these things, which are very important in society and especially for vulnerable children.
Working in the research, I could test my knowledge and skills to develop questionnaires for the mapping study, carry out research on a variety of topics and was able to provide some of my contributions to this great initiative.
With Udayan Care I was able to go beyond my core academic knowledge and learn something new, something different. Udayan care provided a platform to get involved with the very sensitive and important challenges the society is facing related to vulnerable children. I was fortunate enough to know about and work for Udayan Care, got to see the working of an NGO and develop some new understandings, the people at Udayan were approachable and very helpful and they guided me every time I faced any difficulties. Overall Udayan Care inculcated new skills, and confidence and also provided some good unlearning.
