Being adopted into the Show Mercy staff for 5 weeks has transformed me, woke me up until I felt more alive than I have ever felt. Mukama yebazibwe [Praise the Lord]!

I always have deeply valued moments of joy, but until I experienced it in Uganda I could not have imagined how much joy people can radiate and how much joy you can experience in a week. It was nearly impossible to be around staff members or being on an outreach and not experience joy. 'Joy' is the shortest, but nevertheless complete, summary of my stay in Uganda. Mukama mulungi [God is good]!

There is so much joy in greeting each other, in encouraging each other, in loving each other, in worshipping together, in serving together, in playing together. And that's exactly what you are invited to do the whole day at SMI! With all my heart I thank God that He brought me to SMI and I thank all the staff members for showing me what it means to live in the deepest sense. Webale nyo nyo nyo [Thank you so much]!
