I’ve been involved with IDRF as a supporter and recently was invited to their Board too. IDRF’s work is rather unique as they are one of the few India centric charities that are working in multiple sectors and in virtually all states, besides giving options to support projects in Sri Lanka and Nepal. I like the nimbleness of the management team last year, when the COVID wave hit, they pivoted to provide support to families in the DC metro area who were having difficulties putting food on the table.
IDRF follows very stringent rules for project selection, management and reporting and having an experienced working Board helps in ensuring project success. Another uniqueness is to provide options for donor advised funding of preferred projects.
Wish IDRF continuing success in making impact at grass root levels in the Indian sub-continent.
