9th August 2021 is the day my biggest dream became real. I started probably the biggest adventure of my life- my exchange year in Texas. Since that day I made so many new experiences I would've never made in Germany. One of my favorites is the school daily life here. I'm a part of a choir, theatre, student council, and powerlifting team. These were the places where I found the most friends and made some of my most beautiful memories. Other than school also church had a big impact on my life here. I found many friends and a closer connection to god again. The daily life here is great but some of my biggest highlights were for example the by Share organized a trip to Los Angles, where I met many other exchange students which I hopefully see in Europe again. Another highlight was my dream to go skiing in the US, which come real when I went skiing in New Mexico with my host family. My host family is also one of the best things that could've happened to me. They're not a host family anymore. They're my second family and have a big part of my heart. But an exchange year is not just great the whole time I also had some struggles while I was here one of them was when I changed my host family after 2months, but even then I felt supported and strengthened through Share because I also had a supporting counselor. I'm glad I chose to do an exchange because I met so many fantastic people it will improve and change my life and Texas is gonna have a spot in my heart forever.
