It is always a difficult one to vote one cause over the other. But reality is such, and for now, one winner is chosen amongst the other winners who await a delayed gratification. Few reasons separate Akshaya Trust’s cause, efforts and passions to the others, except for one, and that is, it is their time to get the recognition and its deserving accolades. Driven by sheer magnanimity, selfless and un-withering love for the discarded of a society, Akshaya Trust has tirelessly and I’m sure tiredly at times, continued their efforts to care for almost a decade now. This selfless care has made the difference for those discarded in a society where some like them only clothe in tatters while not too far away someone else sprays Chanel No.5 onto themselves. Akshaya Trust has enabled even the life in tattered clothes to continue living, calm the grumbles in their stomachs, and sit in peace to listen to the protesting voices in their heads. Most importantly, they have encouraged their survival to be in dignity allowing them to share at least one commonality with some of their fragrant, affluent country people.
