Review for Frisco Humane Society, Frisco, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Highlighting what has already been mentioned and key to what makes FHS an amazing rescue organization: More than 10,000 adoptions in 20 years. Prioritization is given to animal health and to matching each individual animal with the perfect family for them. All members of FHS are volunteers who truly love and care for each animal's long-term health & happiness. The collective knowledge of all FHS volunteers is helpfully-shared with other volunteers and with adopters. Many FHS volunteers are experienced trappers of homeless animals, saving hundreds of cats & dogs (and their many little babies) each year, feeding, socializing and "Vetting" all medical needs for each individual animal... one by one via FHS Foster Parent heroes and with the help of many more FHS Super-Volunteers. Adoptions can be conveniently managed via online info & applications (FriscoHumaneSociety.com) and/or via the Adoption Events held at PetSmart (Preston & Warren) each weekend, especially from Noon - 4pm on Saturdays. See FHS activities & updates on Facebook and Instagram: Frisco Humane Society

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Thank each volunteer every day for making an important difference via their hours & hours of selfless contributions.

As a volunteer, I appreciate how Frisco Humane Society has rescued, provided medical care for (e.g. all vaccines & spay/neuter) and successfully placed over 10,000 animals since 2001. This was & is accomplished with an All-Volunteer team including only Foster Families (rather than a shelter) to provide loving temporary homes prior to their adoptions. FHS partners with PetSmart Charities to provide potential adopters a convenient place to meet & greet all felines each weekend (as well as throughout the week). Diverse volunteer backgrounds include extensive feline & canine experience and, my favorite, trappers and contacts who can rescue and properly manage an appropriate path for each individual animal from several feral animal communities [e.g., some felines are best suited for managed barn home environments while others transition to indoor snuggle-purr-babies with the experienced help of their Foster Families.]. Thank you, FHS, for matching each volunteer to their best talents to rescue these animals! Insert next paragraph to talk about the benefit to all volunteers :) :) :)

The expertise of FHS's all-volunteer team is so impressive as foster animals are lovingly taken care of to insure they are healthy (e.g., vaccinated, spayed & neutered) and socialized before being carefully matched with the best Forever Homes possible. Adopters are encouraged to ask questions and to coordinate with the experts before and after each adoption. Foster parents do an awesome job of matching each animal's needs with their future home as they take into account each animal's specific personality & history. There are many roles that the great team of volunteers fill... With more volunteers (especially foster families), FHS can rescue more animals. As always, the gift of volunteering goes to the rescued animals, their adopters... and to the volunteers as well!
