When our dad had to relocate to this area for health reasons we had to quickly find him a home. Vassar Warner Home stood out among the places we looked because it felt more like a “home” than an institution. The rooms all have their own unique character with high ceilings and tall doors giving it an open feel. The views of the Valley are beautiful. The dining room feels like a restaurant rather than a cafeteria. But the most special thing about VWH is the staff. During the worst of the pandemic they did an amazing job keeping the residents safe. Families continue to receive constant information regarding policy changes and rules regarding the pandemic. The office staff is friendly. The kitchen staff is great, catering to Dad’s dietary needs and preferences. The medical staff is on top of Dad’s care and communicates with us immediately when Dad is having any issues. Most importantly Dad regularly says he knows the staff “likes” him, which to me means he feels safe and well cared for.
