Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA
We LOVE Labrador Rescuers! We adopted Sophie (previously named Tika) a month ago. We had recently lost our beloved six-year-old dog to cancer and our house seemed so empty. We saw Sophie’s picture and lovely detailed description of her on their website and called a friend (one of the exceptional dedicated volunteers) for more information. She arranged for us to meet Sophie, a rescue from Mexico, at her foster family’s home. From the minute we walked in we could see what a loving, nurturing home she was in. Marlene and Mort gave the absolute best start to a frightened one-year-old sweetheart!
The adoption process was very thorough, with evaluations of what would be best for the dog and for us. By the time we had completed several meet and greet visits we knew that Sophie was the dog for us. And is she ever!
It’s amazing to find a volunteer group that is so organized, caring and committed to matching the dogs with families. I love what they do for dogs and our community. We are so fortunate to have had such a thoroughly rewarding experience finding our forever love, Sophie.
