I started volunteering with the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria at the end of 2021. Previously, I had attended events like Kongs-giving, stocking stuffing at Christmas, and paint your pet. I was very impressed and knew I wanted to volunteer there. Volunteers are provided with so much valuable training - I have trained to work with cats and small animals. There are many different ways you can volunteer- you can do what works with your interests and schedule. I love being around the animals - so cute and sweet. The staff at the shelter are truly awesome - it's obvious that they do what they do because they genuinely love animals. It is a great place to volunteer and I love it!
