I have been volunteering with AWLA since Aug 2021 and I can say it is a truly wonderful organization. Every single person there has the best interests of the animals at heart, and they are so appreciative of the volunteer staff. Their volunteer training and overall organization at the shelter is excellent and I am proud to be a part of this caring and professional group of people. They also assist the community with many varied outreach programs which are utilized by many folks who benefit from their services. When people hear I volunteer at the shelter they say, oh isn’t that too sad? I tell them no, it is a privilege to be part of such a positive group of people whose entire focus is to improve the animals’ daily lives and assist them with finding their forever homes.
