Review for Triangle Gay Men's Chorus, Research Triangle Park, NC, USA
We attended the "Brave Souls and Dreamers" concert in June, 2009, and my family was impressed with the Triangle Gay Men's Chorus on many levels. Their a Capella opening piece was a marvelous piece of music and acoustical engineering - the venue created an almost-perfect unison sound and the basses, in particular, simply resounded. The cantata was inspiring. We commented to each other about the artistic interpretation in a precise performance that spoke volumes about the musical leadership and conductor's skill. The chorus sang as a well-trained unit yet never lost the artistic and musical individuality that makes for listening pleasure. The Sunday afternoon large crowd responded with a heartfelt standing ovation at intermission and acknowledged the incredible work these men put into their performance. Fabulous performance; amazing chorus. What a wonderful afternoon!
