Review for GLSO Pride Center, Lexington, KY, USA
The Pride Center has become my home. The people here have help find myself after hiding from the world out of fear for so many years. I have learned how to give back through volunteering here, and have met many new while doing so. This organization deserves so much more help than it receives from its community. It has come a long way though from its beginning many years ago.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the many lives it has touched and changed over the years I have been acquainted with it.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
have a housing fund open so that it would eventually be able to have its own building where they would like.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
working on the newsletter, and being able to work on Saturday mornings a few years ago.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very well informed of what was happening around town, and what was available to GLBT's in healthcare and other area's.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
first hire someone to oversee the accurate dispensing of the funds so that they wouldn't run out. Then get their own building. Then maybe hire more staff.
Ways to make it better...
it was more centrally located, such as downtown, and possibly opened more hours with more workers.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
finances, volunteers willing to work to keep doors open more hours, more diverse board memebers.
One thing I'd also say is that...
with the funds they do have, and the volunteers, and board members they run and an awesome Pride Center. They are growing, but with some help they could help the much needed GLBT growing community in Lexington and surrounding communites.
