Positive Network Alliance is absolutely amazing! As a teacher in a low income Title I school, I saw first hand how much joy they truly bring. My second graders would anticipate for weeks the day Santa would come to visit and transform our school into a winter wonderland. First, Santa would arrive early and lead a parade of helpers through the main hall of our school. Students would line each side of the main hall and clap and chant as Santa walked by. It was magical! For the rest of the morning our students moved from station to station, where the magic continued. Students were invited make a holiday craft and card, choose a book to keep, sing holiday songs at the karaoke station, interact with muppet-like puppets, visit the North Pole museum and even pet a live horse. Every student was able to sit on Santa’s lap and were gifted a photo of themself with Santa. To culminate the experience, the kids were invited to step into Toy Land and choose a gift from the hundreds of toys stacked on tables and around the walls of our library. For many this was the first time they had ever been able to choose a toy for themselves. I’m sure it was also the only Christmas gift that many received. I can not say enough good things about Positive Network Alliance or thank them enough for their generosity. This was an experience that my students will remember always. I retired in May after 33 years of teaching, and was honored to be invited to join the Positive Network Alliance School Advisory Board. I’m so excited to help this wonderful group continue to bring the wonder of Christmas to the thousands of students they work with each year.
